Terms of Service

truuimage ("the Service") is operated by Resonix Labs (Canada) Inc. ("we", "us", "the operator"). The Service analyzes an image you submit and returns one of three verdicts — real, ai, or manipulated — together with a confidence score and a confidence tier (LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH). Access is credit-based: you buy or are granted credits, and each scan spends credits from your balance. The Service is available through the account console and through the API described at /docs.

You need an account to buy credits, run a scan, or create an API key. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your credentials — your password, your session, and any API key you create — confidential. Sessions are cookie-based; anyone who obtains a valid session cookie or a valid API key can act as you within the scope that credential has. Tell us immediately if you believe either has been compromised.

Your email address must be verified before any part of the account console is reachable at all. Every page under the account console requires a verified email — signing in with an unverified account does not grant access to your account pages, a scan, a credit balance, or anything else there; you are redirected to a verification screen first, and only after verifying can you view your account, run a scan, buy credits, or create an API key.

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any purpose that is illegal where you are located;
• attempt to circumvent a rate limit, a credit charge, or any other technical control the Service applies;
• submit images you do not have the legal right to submit, or use the Service to violate another person's privacy or other rights;
• attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or replicate the detection model or the pipeline behind it; or
• share, resell, or sublicense API access without our prior written agreement to do so.

We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of this section — see 8. Termination below.

Every verdict the Service returns is a calibrated, probabilistic estimate — a confidence score and a tier, not a determination of fact and not a certainty. A verdict is probabilistic evidence, not proof, and must not be treated as proof, relied upon as the sole basis for an accusation against a person, or used as the sole basis for a takedown, an employment decision, or any other adverse action without independent corroboration. The Service's own published limitations (see the landing page's limitations section) describe specific, real conditions — heavy recompression, screenshots and re-photographs, small or well-blended edits, and generators the model was never trained on — under which a verdict is materially less reliable than the headline accuracy figure suggests.

New, verified accounts receive 5 credits once, automatically, on email verification. Additional credits are sold in one-time packs (Starter, Pro, Studio); see /pricing for current pack sizes and prices. Purchased credits are a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and do not expire.

Each scan costs 1 credit, charged when the Service accepts your upload — before the verdict is known. If a scan fails (an undecodable file, a detector error) or is abandoned and expires without completing, its credit is refunded to your balance automatically; you do not need to request it. If your balance is insufficient to cover a scan, nothing is charged.

Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number. If Stripe reports a chargeback or a dispute on a purchase, we claw back the credits that purchase granted, up to whatever remains in your balance at that time.

[POLICY: discretionary refunds] — beyond the automatic scan refunds and chargeback clawback described above, the operator has not yet decided whether, or under what circumstances, a credit purchase may be refunded on request.

API access is authenticated by a key you create in the account console. A key is shown to you once, at creation; we store only a SHA-256 hash of it, never the plaintext, so we cannot show it to you again or recover it if you lose it. A key carries your account's full scanning ability and spends your account's credits — treat it like a password.

Authentication, request/response shapes, error codes, and current rate limits are documented at /docs and are not restated here, so this page cannot drift out of step with the API itself.

[LIABILITY LIMITATION — TO BE DRAFTED BY COUNSEL] — the scope of any limitation of liability, and any carve-outs required by Ontario, Canada's consumer-protection law, is a decision left to a qualified lawyer, not to this engineering draft. No liability cap or disclaimer is stated here until that review happens.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for a violation of 3. Acceptable use, for non-payment, or for a legal or security reason.

[POLICY: unused credit balance on termination] — what happens to a remaining credit balance if we terminate an account for cause, versus if you close your own account, is a business policy the operator has not yet decided and counsel has not yet reviewed.

Closing an account today is a manual, by-hand process — email hello@resonixlabs.io. There is no self-service account-deletion control in the product yet (see /legal/retention).

[GOVERNING LAW] — these Terms will be governed by the law of Ontario, Canada, once that placeholder is replaced with a real, counsel-reviewed choice. [DISPUTE RESOLUTION / ARBITRATION VENUE] — no arbitration clause or dispute-resolution venue is stated here; that is a decision for the operator and a qualified lawyer, not an engineering default.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the last time the text changed. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
